Saturday
Full of potential
Ideas dance in my head
Much to be accomplished
Yet I stay in bed
I close my eyes a moment
I play games on my phone
I watch movies on Hallmark
Now my Saturday is gone.

I jump up
Write a list
Item one: Make the bed
I put on old clothes
I clean every room
I don’t stop for lunch
I don’t put down the broom
I don’t stop to chat
I don’t stop to play
I’m at the end of my list
And my Saturday.

I need to go to the mall
Maybe Target instead
We need summer clothes
Florida’s hot!
Don’t you agree?
Maybe I’ll take the kids
shopping with me.
Maybe Dad will go too.
We’ll eat at Chick Fil A
Sounds like a plan!
